Week 15 NFL Predictions: December 15, 2018
JETS vs TEXANS
Pick: OVER 44 POINTS -110
The New York Jets will host the Houston Texans in this one. I see this game going over this total. The Texans should be able to run the ball effectively against this Jets defense that ranks 27th in the NFL against the run. Lamar Miller is having a great season and he should have a big game today. The Jets don’t have a great passing game but should have some success against a Texans pass defense that ranks 24th in the league. This total is just too low. Back the over.
BROWNS vs BRONCOS
Pick: UNDER 46.5 POINTS -110
The Denver Broncos host the Cleveland Browns in this game between two teams clinging to long shot playoff hopes. I expect this one to be low scoring and competitive. The Broncos are very banged up on offense and Case Keenum is not playing well. They really struggled moving the ball last week in their loss to the 49ers last week only scoring 14 points. The Browns should struggle to move the ball against a tough experienced Broncos defense that is playing very well. They have only given up 47 points over the last 3 weeks. With all the Broncos injuries on offense their defense playing great points should be tough to come by. Take the under.
CARDINALS vs FALCONS
Pick: CARDINALS +10 -110
The Cardinals take on the Falcons in Atlanta in a game that should be closer than the line suggests. The Cardinals have one of the best pass defenses in the NFL that should be able to limit the passing attack of the Atlanta Falcons which is the focal point of their offense. If the Cards can slow the Falcons down this one should stay close.
TITANS vs GIANTS
Pick: GIANTS +1.5 -110
The Giants host the Titans in this one and they have a great chance to put a dent in the Titans playoff hopes. The Giants have been playing some very good football going 4-1 in their last 5 games and beating some pretty tough opponents in that stretch. The Titans are a completely different team away from home going 2-5 on the road this season. With how well the Giants are playing they should be able to get the win at home.
PACKERS vs BEARS
Pick: BEARS -5.5 -110
The Packers go on the road to face the division rival Chicago Bears in this one. The road has not been kind to the Packers this season. They are 0-6 away from Lambeau Field and the task will not get any easier today facing this great Bears team. Expect Aaron Rodgers and the Packers to have a tough time moving the ball against a defense that ranks in the top 10 for both passing and rushing yards per game. Bears win comfortably.
BUCCANEERS vs RAVENS
Pick: RAVENS -8.5 -110
The Ravens should have no problem in this game as they host the Buccaneers. The Ravens defense has been incredible this season against both the run and the pass. The Buccaneers offense is pretty one dimensional and the Ravens should be able to key in on their passing game and shut them down. On offense I expect Lamar Jackson’s dual threat ability will allow him to dominate for the Ravens. The Bucs defense isn’t strong at all and Lamar should be able to expose that.
PATRIOTS vs STEELERS
Pick: OVER 54 POINTS -110
In the most anticipated game of the week the Patriots will go into Pittsburgh to face the Steelers. I expect this one to be a shootout between great veteran quarterbacks. The Steelers will have to rely on their passing attack as they are without starting running back James Conner. I expect the Steelers to have success in the air and if they do Tom Brady will have to go shot for shot with the Steelers offense. Expect a lot of points here.
EAGLES vs RAMS
Pick: EAGLES +13 -110
Coming into this season this game was being looked at as a potential NFC Championship preview but the Eagles have not lived up to their expectations going just 6-7 to this point of the season. Even though they will be without Carson Wentz this line is too big. Nick Foles is a more than capable back up and should have success against the Rams defense. The Eagles have a lot of talent on their defense and should be able to slow the Rams down enough to keep this one within 13 points.
