FLORIDA STATE vs VIRGINIA TECH NCAA FOOTBALL BET ANALYSIS
The Seminoles of Florida State will host the Hokies of Virginia Tech in Tallahassee for the final game of the opening week of the College Football season. The Seminoles are definitely expecting to improve on their 7-6 season from a year ago where they lost star QB Deandre Francois in their first game of the year to a gruesome knee injury. This offseason they underwent a major coaching change as former head coach Jimbo Fischer chased the money and bolted for Texas A&M. New boss Willie Taggart will make his first coaching appearance for the Seminoles against a tough Virginia Tech team.
Virginia Tech comes into this game off a 9-4 season a year ago. They had a very good season picking up some very impressive wins along the way. Their big returnee is sophomore QB Josh Jackson who threw for just under 3000 yards and 20 touchdowns in his freshman season for the Hokies. He will be able to lead this Hokies offense well this year as I expect him to be even better this season then he was last year.
Both of these teams are returning most of their offensive starters from a season ago. The Hokies will return 7 starters while the Noles will bring back 8. Due to the comfortability of these offenses, they should both be able to hit the ground running early in this one. I tend to favor good quarterbacks early in the season due to their ability to run and lead an offense well off the bat and both of these QB’s fit this category.
Where there will be a lack of comfortability today is with these team’s defenses. Especially Florida State’s. New head coach Willie Taggart has implemented a brand new defensive scheme into the program and there will be an adjustment period especially because they have 7 new starters on defense from a season ago. Virginia Tech lost 6 of their 11 starters from last season and their first test comes against a very good Florida State offense.
Expect big games out of both these quarter backs in what should be a bit of a shootout. Back the over 55 points.
