PADRES vs MARINERS: August 28, 2018
Pick: PADRES TT OVER 4 RUNS -110
PADRES vs MARINERS MLB BET ANALYSIS
The San Diego Padres return home to Petco Park tonight to take on the Seattle Mariners. Returning home could not come at a better time for them as they are losers of 5 games in a row. Their offense did not look good over the losing streak. However, it had a lot to do with the brutally tough pitching they had to face in those games. The first two games of the losing streak were against the Rockies where they had to face Jon Gray and Kyle Freeland. The following 3 games were against the Dodgers where they had to face Ryu, Kershaw and Rich Hill. Their task will get a lot easier tonight returning home and getting to face Felix Hernandez.
Hernandez is having a horrible season. He has put together an 8-11 record with a 5.64 ERA and is clearly on the decline of his incredible career. He is in the Mariners rotation right now because of who he is not because of his play this season. His bad numbers get even worse when he goes on the road. His ERA jumps to an atrocious 7.46 when pitching away from Safeco Field. In his last 3 starts away from home he has only managed to get through 14.2 innings combined in those games while giving up 20 runs.
The Padres should be able to turn it around offensively tonight against the easiest pitcher they have gotten to face since their losing streak. Expect another poor road start from Felix Hernandez. Back the team total over 4 runs.
