Pick: MARINERS ML -140
RAYS vs INDIANS MLB ANALYSIS
The Seattle Mariners will look to cling to the little bit of playoff hope they have left at home against the San Diego Padres. I really like the Mariners to bounce back after dropping yesterday’s contest and they have the right man on the mound to do that. They will start Wade Leblanc who on the season has put together a very solid 8-3 record along with a 3.56 ERA. Leblanc is about as hot as you can be over his last 3 starts. He has only given up 1 run over 19 innings of work in that span while only allowing 13 hits. What makes this hot run of starts even more impressive is the fact that he had to face 2 of baseballs best offenses, the Oakland A’s and the Arizona D Backs over that 3 game stretch. His task gets much easier today as he is pitching in front of his home crowd against a Padres team that only averages scoring 3.8 runs per which has them tied for 27th in the majors. Joey Lucchesi starts for the Padres. He has been good this season as well going 7-8 with a 3.59 ERA but he faces a tougher task than Leblanc here. The Mariners play very well at home. They are 41-32 at Safeco Field this year and should give Lucchesi some trouble. The Padres are just 31-43 away from home this season and could struggle. Take the Mariners to bounce back.
