ASTROS vs GIANTS FREE MLB BETBASEBALL TIP: August 06, 2018
UNDER 7.5 RUNS -120
The Houston Astros make the trip to San Francisco Giants to open up a two game interleague series with the Giants. The Astros pitching staff has been on fire. They have only allowed 14 runs in their last 7 games and they will look to keep that going in this one. The first game of this series features a powerhouse pitching matchup as Charlie Morton starts for the Astros and Dereck Rodriguez toes the rubber for the Giants. Morton has put together an all star season for the Astros and has been a main feature in their rotation all year. In 124.1 innings he has put together a 12-2 record with a 2.90 ERA. He has struck out a whopping 159 batters as well. Morton stumbled a little bit heading into the all star break but he has found his form again in his two starts following. In 12 innings he has only allowed 10 hits and 3 runs while striking out 13 hitters. Facing a weaker offense in the San Francisco Giants should help him build on this momentum he has picked up. If you think what Charlie Morton has done is impressive you should check out Dereck Rodriguez has done lately for the Giants. In his last 7 outings he has thrown 42.1 innings while only giving up 7 runs. With strong pitching like this he has been able to improve his season stat line to 5-1 with a 2.59 ERA. While the Astros have one of the MLB’s best offenses it has not seemed to matter the opponent for Rodriguez as he is dominating anyone he faces. I expect another very strong outing today. This one looks like your classic pitcher’s duel. Expect runs to be at a premium and for this one to finish below the 7.5 run total.
